  • WordPress runs 78 % of all sites with a recognisable CMS — 3,695,812 domains. The runner-up, Wix, has 386,983.
  • WooCommerce powers 1,138,474 online shops in the census — about 17 times as many as Shopify (66,114).
  • Germany leads with 1.67 M domains, ahead of United Kingdom (749 k) and France (659 k).
  • 12 % of domains show a cookie banner, but only 5.3 % use Google Consent Mode.
  • Google Analytics 4 is on 39 % of domains (3.32 M).

How the data is collected

WebStatBot fetches public pages only. It never logs in, submits forms or places orders, and identifies itself as WebStatBot/1.0 (+https://www.webstatbot.com/bot).

  • It follows robots.txt, including Crawl-delay.
  • It sends at most one or two requests at a time to a site.
  • It slows down when a server answers 429.

Published figures are aggregates. Contact details and other personal data are not part of the downloads.
